Dave's Top 5 New Wave Drummers

Say hello to brand new Rude Boy George drummer Dave!

Dave has been playing drums since he was a wee tot, churning out toddler beats on pots and pans with wooden spoons. Cheap metal snares and oddball percussion are where it's at for him nowadays.

Dave says, "I am drawn to just about anything that gets your head bobbing, but I've always had a soft spot for artists like DJ Shadow, Blockhead, and Cut Chemist.... Guys who can flip simple drum beats upside down and really get you moving.... Except for me. I'll just stand in the corner and cabbage patch."

Check out the top 5 list of 80's new wave era drummers that have influenced and inspired Dave the most:

1. Alan Meyers: Devo
2. Clem Burke: Blondie
3. Stewart Copeland: The Police
4. Mel Gaynor: Simple Minds Official
5. Jon Farriss: INXS

Dave says, "Outside the genre of new wave, guys like Stan Lynch (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Phil Rudd ( AC/DC) showed how drummers can stand out while playing it straight and simple."
